RAD-140: human research and its limits

RAD-140 is a SARM with phase I research in metastatic breast cancer. That work evaluates target activity and tolerability in patients rather than muscle enhancement in healthy people.

Who participated?

The trial published in the 2022 journal issue included 22 postmenopausal women with metastatic breast cancer. It reported early target-engagement and antitumour signals alongside adverse events, including elevated liver enzymes. Reference: RAD140 first-in-human phase I trial

Can these findings establish training benefits?

No. Disease, prior treatments and measured outcomes differ. Saying that a substance has human research is incomplete without identifying the participants.

Why discuss liver measurements?

Early trials record potential benefits and harms together. AST or ALT changes inform assessment; a testing schedule cannot make every pattern of use safe.

US FDA warns that SARMs are unapproved drugs and may cause serious health problems. FDA: SARMs

Frequently asked questions

Did this source test muscle enhancement in healthy people?

No. Its participants had metastatic breast cancer.

Does phase I mean efficacy is fully established?

No. It is early research focused on tolerability, safety and preliminary activity.

How should this article be used?

Use it to identify the substance, understand what the cited research measured, and prepare questions for a qualified clinician. It is educational information, not an individual treatment plan.
